Gathering in Mount Subasio, Assisi

Aloha Everyone!!!
I am here to speak a little about this marvellous place that is ASSISI, land of Saint Francis.
My first time in Assisi was in 1999, by invitation of the dear friendds from the Casa Regina Della Pace. We were in Amsterdam and from there we flew, me and my friend Sebastião Raulino, to the peaceful Assisi. Two extremes, two realities: from the crazy freedom of Amsterdam to the natural freedom of Assisi, in Umbria. It was love at first sight. Located on the flank of Mount Subasio, the preserved medieval city transports us to a journey in time. There I met this mystery of Universal Wisdom, this Franciscan Spirit. Spirit of simplicity, of renewal, force, ecology, humanization, respect and understanding.
It was really, really Good!!!!!!!! To take the Santo Daime in that city, enveloped by this Spirit. ....................a journey very different to the one I was doing in Amsterdam.

Youth Movement

Young people always bring a vibrant energy to the works and share among themselves a singular union, particular to that generation. Music has been many times the instrument that gets us even closer to the Doctrine and that brings us, as a fruit of this union, a little more for us to be able to present to our Master. I believe that it has always been like that, but it was only in middle part of the 90's that the youth of Céu do Mapiá began to get organized and work to achieve the improvements they desired in their community, which included a genuine concern with the environmental question, approaching points as recycling and cleaning and socializing of the community. In the beginning the group got together and did spiritual works with the sacrament of the Santo Daime; these works came to inspire the accomplishment of works related health, education, leisure and culture in the material plan of the daily life of the community, as for example selective collection of rubbish, cleaning of the igarapé, urban improvements of the community, theatre plays, trainings of capoeira, dances and paintings.
Soon the movement spreaded throughout Brazil and many Encontros de Jovens were already carried out in many states of the country. In this same intention of union and in the hope of making our current even stronger, will be carried out the I International Meeting of Youths of the Holy one Daime. The main purpose is of fortifying the connection with the people of the forest, but also of motivating a greater insertion of the young daimistas from everywhere in a common work with ecological, social, spiritual and young features. We may then be able to contribute for the Nova Era (New Age).
